ASHI training programs are recognized, accepted and approved by, or meet the requirements of, nearly 4,500 state regulatory agencies, occupational licensing boards, national associations, commissions and councils in more than 120 occupations and professions.
CPR - AMERICAN HEALTH & SAFETY INSTITUTE
Participants will learn to recognize and respond to the signals of heart attack, cardiac arrest and stroke as well as other medical emergencies for adults, children and infants including obstructed airway (choking), and allergic reactions. Participants will earn a 2-year certification card.
ASHI’s CPR/AED course content conforms to the 2016 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC. ASHI programs have been reviewed by and satisfy the requirements of the Department of Labor, Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), Department of Homeland Security and United States Coast Guard; and are endorsed and approved by state regulatory agencies including those licensing Emergency Medical Services, child care, education and public health.
CPR PRO - AMERICAN HEALTH & SAFETY INSTITUTE
CPR Pro for the Professional Rescuer is BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers which covers all age groups and conforms to the 2010 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC, and other evidence-based treatment recommendations. If you are taking this class for work or school, please check with your employer/supervisor to be certain this is the class you need.
FIRST AID - AMERICAN HEALTH & SAFETY INSTITUTE
Instruction includes “Universal” procedures for the first aid provider in the community and the workplace including emergency response, physical assessment, and treatment for the suddenly ill or injured victim. Course includes information on body substance isolation, bleeding, shock, burns, sprains, fractures, splinting, asthma, diabetic concerns, seizures, severe allergic reactions, poisoning, insect bites and stings and heat- and cold-related emergencies. Participants will earn a 2-year certification card from ASHI.
WILDERNESS & REMOTE FIRST AID-AMERICAN HEALTH & SAFETY INSTITUTE
Designed for outdoor recreation leaders and enthusiasts, or anyone who works or spends time in remote environments. Advanced skills will be taught to be used in emergencies when help from professional first responders is distant or delayed. This American Red Cross course aligns with OSHA’s Best Practices for Workplace First Aid Training Programs.
Prerequisites: Must be at least 14 years old and hold current adult CPR/AED certification.
